Gynecomastia Surgery in Gurgaon
Chest fullness that does not respond to exercise is often a tissue problem rather than a weight problem: glandular breast tissue, excess fat behind the nipple, or both.
At Centre for Aesthetics, Dr. Ritesh Anand combines gland excision with VASER liposuction where indicated to create a flatter, masculine contour with minimal visible scarring.

Excision and liposuction play different roles.
True glandular tissue requires excision, while surrounding fat is contoured with liposuction. The balance between removal and preservation is what keeps the chest flat without creating a crater.
How gynecomastia surgery works
Most established cases combine gland excision with fat contouring, but the proportion of each is individual.
Gland excision
The firm, disc-like breast tissue behind the nipple is removed through a small incision around the lower edge of the areola. The incision is placed within the areolar colour transition so the resulting scar can settle discreetly as it matures.
- Targets established glandular tissue
- Incision follows the areolar colour transition
- Amount preserved is planned for natural contour
VASER liposuction
Excess fat around the gland and across the chest is removed and contoured using ultrasound-assisted liposuction. It is gentler on fibrous male chest tissue and is used to create a smoother transition across the chest.
- Contours fat around the gland
- Useful in fibrous male chest tissue
- Supports a smooth chest transition
The critical judgment is how much tissue to remove and preserve. Removing too much can create a crater; removing too little leaves residual fullness. Dr. Ritesh typically preserves a thin 1 to 1.5 cm disc behind the nipple to maintain natural contour while ensuring correction.
The grade changes the surgical plan
Severity, skin excess, gland volume, and fat distribution determine the approach.
Gynecomastia severity is classified in grades, and the grade determines the surgical approach. Lower grades may need a smaller excision and contouring plan, while more advanced grades can involve additional skin management.
The distinction between true gynecomastia and chest fat (pseudogynecomastia) also matters. Pure fat may respond to liposuction alone, while established glandular tissue requires excision.
Recovery after gynecomastia surgery
The chest settles in stages, with compression and a gradual return to exercise protecting the early contour.
First week
Most patients plan 5 to 7 days away from work.
Compression
A compression vest is worn for 4 to 6 weeks as advised to support the healing chest contour.
Return to exercise
Light lower-body exercise may resume at 2 weeks. Upper-body and chest exercise usually returns at 4 to 6 weeks, with full intensity at 6 to 8 weeks after clearance from Dr. Ritesh.
Final refinement
Swelling continues to settle and the chest contour and scars mature over approximately 3 to 6 months.

Get a Personalised QuoteSurgical judgment protects the contour
Gynecomastia correction is not simply about removing as much tissue as possible. The result depends on identifying gland and fat correctly, smoothing the surrounding chest, and preserving enough support beneath the nipple to avoid a visible dip.
Dr. Ritesh performs the correction personally and plans the excision and VASER contouring together, with the grade and tissue balance guiding the operation rather than a standard one-technique approach.

Clear answers about gynecomastia surgery
Recurrence, scar visibility, return to the gym, and the limits of non-surgical treatment.
Will gynecomastia come back after surgery?
When the required glandular tissue is excised while preserving the planned thin contour-supporting layer, recurrence is extremely rare. Our recurrence guide explains the factors that influence this.
Will the scars be visible?
The incision sits just above the lower edge of the areola, where the colour transition conceals it. Once healed (3 to 6 months), the scar is virtually invisible in most patients.
How long until I can go to the gym?
Light lower body exercise at 2 weeks. Upper body and chest exercises at 4 to 6 weeks. Full intensity at 6 to 8 weeks with clearance from Dr. Ritesh.
Can gynecomastia be treated without surgery?
If the fullness is primarily fat (pseudogynecomastia) and mild, weight loss may help. True glandular gynecomastia does not respond to exercise, diet, or medication in adults. Surgery is the only effective treatment for established glandular tissue.
