Hair Transplant in Gurgaon
Medical treatments can slow hair loss and support native follicles, but areas where follicles have been lost permanently need a different solution: moving genetically resistant hair from the donor area to where hair is gone.
Dr. Ritesh Anand’s FUE approach prioritises natural hairline design, conservative donor management, and a long-term plan for where hair loss may progress—not only where it is today.
Hair transplant quick facts
Technique, time, anaesthesia, visible recovery, growth timing, and the surgeon leading the transplant at a glance.
A hairline should age naturally with you.
The front edge, graft angles, density, donor reserve, and likely future pattern all matter. The goal is not the highest number of grafts today; it is a credible result that leaves options for the future.
How FUE hair transplant works
Individual follicular units are extracted and placed at deliberate angles and densities to reproduce natural growth.
Individual graft extraction
Follicular units containing 1 to 4 hairs are extracted from the genetically resistant back and sides of the scalp using a 0.8 to 1.0 mm micro-punch.
Recipient-site design
Each graft is implanted into recipient sites created at precise angles and densities in the hairline, crown, or mid-scalp.
A soft front edge
Single-hair grafts at the very front create a soft, irregular transition that matches facial proportions instead of a straight, detectable line.
No linear scar
Extraction sites heal as tiny dots that are virtually invisible once the surrounding donor hair grows to normal length, making FUE suitable for patients who wear their hair short.
Who benefits—and who should wait
Stable loss, adequate donor density, realistic coverage, and native-hair preservation are central to candidacy.
Established, stable hair loss
Good candidates include men and women with an established, stable pattern, adequate donor density, and realistic expectations about coverage. Medical maintenance such GFC may be used where suitable to protect native hair that is not transplanted.
- Stable pattern
- Adequate donor density
- Realistic density and coverage goals
When waiting is responsible
Patients under 25 with an evolving pattern, people who have not tried appropriate medical stabilisation first, and patients without enough donor density for the requested coverage may be advised to wait or choose a different plan.
- Evolving loss pattern
- Native hair not yet stabilised
- Insufficient donor reserve
Donor-area planning for a lifetime
Extracted donor follicles do not regenerate. Every graft used now changes what remains available later.
Dr. Ritesh plans each transplant with lifetime hair management in mind. A 28-year-old whose pattern may progress to Norwood 4 or 5 can exhaust future options if too many grafts are used for a dense, youthful hairline in one early session.
Conservative grafting with a natural, age-appropriate hairline at each stage is intended to preserve enough donor capacity for later work if the pattern progresses.
Over-harvesting can visibly thin the donor area itself. This is one reason younger patients are sometimes advised to wait rather than treating the scalp like an unlimited graft supply.
From hairline design to maturing growth
The procedure is same-day; the visual result builds gradually over many months.
Hairline design
The hairline is designed and agreed with you sitting upright before local anaesthesia and mild sedation are administered.
Procedure day
FUE takes 4 to 8 hours depending on graft count. Most patients describe the session as tedious rather than painful and leave the same day.
First two weeks
Tiny grafts and donor dots are visible. Scabs form during the first days and shed by day 10 to 14 with gentle washing.
Shedding and first growth
Transplanted hairs shed at weeks 2 to 4; this shock loss is expected. New growth begins around months 3 to 4 and becomes visible around months 4 to 6.
Density and maturation
Visible density builds through months 5 to 9. The full result is generally visible at 9 to 12 months, with continued maturation and thickening possible to 12 to 15 months.

Clear answers about FUE hair transplant
Permanence, graft count, timing, scars, and candidacy for women.
Is a hair transplant permanent?
Yes. Transplanted hair comes from the genetically resistant donor area and is not affected by the hormonal process that caused the original hair loss. However, native (non-transplanted) hair around the transplant can continue to thin without medical maintenance, which is why we recommend ongoing therapy.
How many grafts do I need?
It depends on your degree of loss, your hairline goals, and your donor capacity. Dr. Ritesh determines the graft count during consultation based on examination, not a fixed formula. Typical ranges: 1,000 to 1,500 for hairline refinement, 2,500 to 3,500 for moderate loss, 4,000+ for extensive coverage.
When will I see the final result?
New growth begins at month 3 to 4. Visible density builds from month 5 to 9. The full result, including hair maturation and thickening, is generally visible at 9 to 12 months and may continue to mature to 12 to 15 months.
Does FUE leave scars?
FUE leaves tiny dot scars (0.8 to 1.0mm) at each extraction site. These are virtually invisible once the donor hair grows to normal length. There is no linear scar.
Can women get hair transplants?
Yes. Female pattern hair loss (diffuse thinning along the part line) can be treated with FUE if the donor area has sufficient density. The assessment determines candidacy.
